East Ayrshire Carers Centre
The Carers Act was passed by the Scottish Government in 2016 and will be effective from the 1st of April 2018. It was designed to set a minimum standard of support for Carers that each local council would have to provide.
We are working in partnership with East Ayrshire Council so that the voice of Carers is considered as they implement the Act. To do this, a team of Peer Mentors have been selected to attend events across the area in order to gather views on a range of topics.
Below are the first four questions that we are looking for views on.
- What would be a good break for you?
- What would be the barrier to you having a good break?
- What would you change to make your caring role easier?
- How do we change the stigma & discrimination that some carers feel?
Responses to these questions can be made by calling us at 01563 571533 or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like a member of our team to come to your Carer Support Group to give a talk on the Carers Act then please get in touch.
As this project continues, this page will be kept up to date with the latest questions we put to Carers, so remember to check in for more opportunities to take part.
