CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

by Adam Smith

We wanted to let you know how our service is adapting to support unpaid carers in these very uncertain times.

We believe that the work we do is essential but we have to consider the safety of carers, the people that they care for and our dedicated and compassionate staff.

With this in mind, our main offices, 20 The Foregate, Carers Cottage in Howard Park, Cumnock Carers Centre and Dalmellington Carers Centre will not be open to the public or for arranged appointments.

We will be able to provide all of the usual information, advice and support over the phone or by email and are exploring how we can offer video calling type support such as Facetime, Whatsapp, Skype etc and will post this information on our social media and websites.

We are stopping all of our group and face to face support for adult carers and young carers. This means that our weekly support groups will not be going ahead as of today. Again, we are exploring how we can offer this vital support remotely and will update you as soon as we have a plan.

This also applies to any arranged complementary therapies that might be booked in.

These are unprecedented and extraordinary times but we want to reassure you that supporting unpaid carers is what we will continue to do – we just need to put a plan in place and are working on that right now.

Please take care and if you need any help just get in touch on 01563 571533 / 01290 426404 / 01292 550696
