East Ayrshire Carers Centre currently offers young people in East Ayrshire a wide range of Employability Skills Training and Development under the banner of Alpha Venture. Currently we aim to support people in various ways:

• Identifying and supporting young people throughout schools in East Ayrshire

• Linking young people into training programmes, work placements, securing further
education and giving employability skills to assist in achieving sustainable employment.

• Maintain trainee records on database and hard copy, ensuring relevant progress in trainee journey.

• Engaging with schools to identify young people with no formal/poor qualifications and low aspiration levels.

• Provide full administrative support for training events.

• Maintain contact with trainees, carrying out regular calls and visits.

• Arrange and organise bespoke training for each young person.

• Create action plans and Personal Development Plans in conjunction with AV trainee specifications.

• To supervise and encourage trainees, appraising at regular intervals

• Monitor trainee Journey, ensure program direction is maintained

• Participate in progress meetings with trainees and staff.

• The Alpha Venture employability programme is a service covering the whole of East Ayrshire. We work with young people aged 14-25, enabling them to access education, training and employment opportunities.

• We provide real life work experience within the hospitality industry. Administrative and general office experience can be gained working within our offices across Ayrshire.

• Youth work experience can be gained by helping at our young carer support groups.

• Full careers advice, training opportunities and access to SVQ Certification is part of the programme.

Joining the Alpha Venture Employability Programme will result in greater self-confidence, specific role training and qualifications that will help you towards the job you want.
